Basically, Im curious. This curiosity and a passion for asking questions is the foundation of my work as a strategic planning consultant. I believe that each project presents a challenge that requires fresh perspective, creative thinking and engaged enthusiasm. My ultimate goal is to bring insight and understanding that can spark creative business solutions – whether that insight comes from doing research with your target or a workshop with your team. I specialize in brand strategy and my work includes market exploration, new product investigation, brand positioning, strategic work sessions, brainstorming workshops and communications development.
My methodologies are diverse – always tailored to the assignment at hand. Whether we need to look outside or inside, my approach is to be human and creative. Whether Im working on creating a documentary style research film, taking a senior team offsite to imagine their brands future or helping an advertising agency understand the dynamics of a creative campaign, I always strive to make sure the learning from a project feels inspiring and actionable, not something that merely validates what was already known and ends up in a drawer gathering dust.
Ive had the opportunity to dive into a diverse range of categories. I recently sat around kitchen tables with women and talked about pregnancy for Kaiser Permanente; and at the other end of the cycle, I explored cremation and personal choices for death and dying for SCI. Literally, Ive explored the whole journey &ndash from birth to death with some cars and coffee in between.

I grew up in the world of advertising at BBDO/West as a brand strategist and creative researcher. Yearning to take insights outside of the realm of advertising, I left the agency world eight years ago to start my own company. However, I dont always fly solo and have a handful of kindred partners who are often collaborators on projects.
I graduated from Princeton University with a degree in English and American Studies. Then I graduated from Divers Unlimited and spent two years as a scuba instructor in the Cayman Islands and Costa Rica. Perhaps it was my time underwater that gave me a unique appreciation for the excitement that comes from exposing people to a whole new way of looking at the world.
